I bought wirefy heat shrink butt splices and misc other connectors for compatibility. Connected several 16 gauge wires. Used the 16-21 gauge butt splices and the jaws for heat shrink butt splices. 30% of them failed and had to redone. Had to crimp each connection twice (double the length of the crimp). Have a low cost wire stripper that can crimp the basic 3 sizes and rarely has a pull out failure. Wanted a tool designed specifically for heat shrink, insulated connectors... to insure no tears in the coating. Hopefully the performance will improve. Could’ve bought a lot of heat shrink tubing and none insulated connectors and stayed with my old crimper otherwise.
